Wow, really awesome. I'd like to know the influences you had for this piece, it has a great pending doom feel.

Another perfect example of the usage of warm and cool colors used in tandem to bring out a great picture. I am teaching that to my art students as well. The cool colors of the sky really brings out the colro of the lake. Image using a red-ish sky, and the intrest in the lake is now decreased.

The sillouette is great foreground tool to the red lava lake.

Thanks man! This is something I've been trying to teach myself recently... Using warms and cools to guide the eye to the focal point. It's all about the composition with me at the moment, haha!. :D

i love the lack of detail, it makes me think the viewpoint is in motion, like those crazy scenes from "Kid's Story" in the Animatrix whith that highly stylized artwork. Only most of those were linear. This feels like the motion is following a curve that goes from top left to bottom right, but curves back to top leftward direction after it reaches behind the figure. then maybe does a spin to show the front of the figure, staring across the bridge at the distance behind the camera. anyway. i leik itz.

I can actually see what you're talking about and wish that I had planned it all that way - it would make me seem like a better artist. :P

My biggest concern on this one was the contrasting colors of the sky and the lava - I'm happy it turned out well and that you can see so much more in it. :D
