I don't just do digital paintings of the Maschinen Krieger universe by Kow Yokoyama... sometimes (very rarely) I actually build and paint the real model kits. :)

This particular one is an AFS (Armored Fighting Suit) variant built for Night-Ops and stealth missions. It was done for a 30 Day challenge over at the Maschinen Krueger forums.

A special thanks to my brother Lincoln over at [link] who provided me with some paints, a little know-how and photography that makes my work look much better than it actually is.

Very cool! I like the pilot's pose, holding his helmet. I wanted to do a similar pose with a Raptor, with the pilot removing his AI/targeting headpiece, but the arm didn't bend enough :D

Is Lincoln "LinK" at the Maschinen Krieger forum? I'm a member over there, too, his work is excellent.

Hi Brad, we are members (Lin.K and Travis) but we don't really post there much anymore - most people have moved over to the Facebook group called Kow YOKOYAMA as we get to share work with people from all over the world. Yokoyama-san himself is a member there too. ;)

Maybe a little - Maschinen Krieger was started back in the early 80s so maybe Interplay borrowed from it. ;)

Man, I have just ordered my first 2 S.A.F.S figures. I used to make kits as a kid but I havent done it for such a long time I have kind of forgotten on what I'm doing, would you mind if I asked you about your process for creating your models? Ace work you been doing as well, I have been meening to drop you a message.

Well I was wondering what kind of paints you use to prime it and also how you go about layering your paint, base colours, weathering etc etc. Are there any particular brands/mediums you use/recommend? Acrylics/oil based etc?

I am expecting my kits to arrive soon so I'll be constructing one of them this weekend hopefully :D
